Dolphin Systems
Dolphin Systems provides consulting and software development services
in addition to selling our dsSocket product.
We have developed systems for bond trading with leading edge financial
instutions in Canada. Utilizing a client/server architecture and a
transaction based network the system supports over 1000 client workstations
with up to the minute bond pricing and order entry.
Another project we developed is used in schools to permit Internet
connectivity only to permitted Web sites. Rather than provide this
functionality using a gateway or firewall each individual workstation
validates the requested site against a SQL database which itself is
accessed via the Internet. In this way the workstation can be a standalone
unit with Internet connectivity provided by a modem rather than an
installed network.
Dolphin Systems previously created one of the first, if not the
first, custom control that would display a 256-color image under Visual
Basic V1.0. This control grew to support GIF, BMP, PCX, TGA and JPG
image formats and was a part of Crescent Software's QuickPak product
from its inception where it was known as csPicture. Dolphin Systems
also created the csDialog custom control which provided an enhanced
replacement for the Microsoft custom control in addition to providing
support for both the Find and Find/Replace common dialogs.
